How to Use Image Compressor
-
Upload JPEG or WebP
Select or drag your JPEG or WebP photo into the drop zone. (PNG files are lossless and cannot be compressed via quality sliders).
-
Adjust compression slider
Move the quality slider between 5% and 100%. We recommend 75%–85% for an optimal balance between visual clarity and file size reduction.
-
Check savings & download
View the live byte savings calculation in real-time, then click "Download Compressed Image" to save it immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I compress PNG files here?
PNG is a lossless image format. The browser Canvas API ignores quality parameters when encoding PNG, so moving a quality slider produces identical file sizes. If you need to compress a PNG, we recommend using our Convert tool to turn it into a modern WebP format first.
What is the recommended quality setting?
For websites, blog posts, and emails, an 80% quality level usually reduces file size by 50% to 75% with virtually unnoticeable loss in visual quality.
Is my data secure and private?
Yes. All compression computations happen locally inside your browser session using hardware acceleration where available. Nothing is ever saved or sent across the internet.
